Saying Goodbye

Saying goodbye is never an easy thing, especially when it's to someone or something you love. As much as I was so very ready for our move, I mean... I was counting down the hours before we were out of there... I never thought that I would get a little emotional during a break while standing in what was going to be considered my "old studio" room.

As I was removing the last items out of that room I stopped for a second and looked at the floor. I realized that a little bit of each piece of restyled furniture that I have ever created was left behind on the gray painted concrete. Random dabs, drips and brushes of color reminded me of those special pieces, each milestones on the path to where I am today. I'll admit it, I teared up a bit. I didn't want to let it go. I didn't want to leave it behind. This is where it all began... my adventures in painting furniture, my leap of blind faith into tons of hard work creating beautiful things for other people. But unfortunately I had no choice but to walk away, so I loaded up what was left, snapped some really quick pictures with my iPhone and didn't look back.

One phase of Retro Restyling stored away in that memory pocket in the back of my brain.

Now Retro Restyling 2.0 has launched in a brand new studio in our new to us home, and I am thankful for the ability to keep pressing on and creating beautiful furniture for others.

From the bottom of my heart, I give many deep thanks to those who started out with me while I launched into what I have become today officially 2 years ago this month. I am eternally grateful for your trust, advice, patience, support and business!!!
