Hello there and welcome to Retro Restyling!
My name is Susan Fudge, and this girl right here is the one who dips her hands in paint every day and loves every minute of it. Currently I live and work (sometimes at the same time!) in my studio just outside of St. Louis, Missouri. I grew up here so I love my big shiny Arch, the Cardinals, the Blues and the mighty Mississippi River. I love the Midwest and I don't see myself living anywhere else, though it is my dream to travel abroad and actually see other cool cities in person, not just on the interwebs. When I wake up every morning my goal is to stay positive, creative and to make at least one person smile and laugh.
Even though I love to be creative, I haven't always had my hands covered in paint. A few years back I went to college for web design, I got a job and I loved using my creative streak to design some pretty great sites. Unfortunately in May of 2009 I lost my job and found myself directionally hopeless. I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do until I ran across the need for a desk in my youngest son's room. Who knew that one simple desk and chair redo would immerse me into the world of painting furniture?
Since then my mind has been a whirlwind full of colorful furniture, creativity and inspiration. I've befriended the greatest people in this genre of interior decor, plus I've been blessed with the most fabulous customers ever, some of which turned out to be great friends. I am driven to travel down my yellow brick "dream" road and I know one day I'll end up in OZ loving every hop, skip and jump on the way there.
Thank you for traveling that road with me by keeping up with my blog and following me on
