...to Anne!

A little brown, a little gray, a little gold and one cute bird. When I first saw this chair I just knew I had to have her. I love telephone chairs, and the shape of this one plus the X in the middle made me smile. I searched high and low for a great fabric that would look awesome on her and finally when I thought, ugh... I can't find anything... I saw this and did a happy dance! It was a small one, I didn't want the girls at the fabric store thinking I was nuts. Anyways, I love birds and the little wren was adorable. Thank goodness I have extra fabric left over because there is another little wren perched on a different branch that could be made into a pillow!
I thought Anne would look peachy with my beloved 1940's alarm clock and some vintage books I found at a resale shop a long time ago. The blue one is a book on how to solve life problems, 1940's style. It's amazing how "life's problems" were viewed back in the day. Plus that vintage milk crate is now available in my Etsy store, along with this bottle and of course Ms. Anne.
As always, thanks for stopping by today! Anne is available as we speak so run on over and take her home with you before she flies away!
Susan! I love Anne! This may be my favorite one you've done so far! Well done! :)
ReplyDeleteLove it!! I agree, love all your work but this one is definitely one of my faves so far! x
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous - the fabric is just. so. perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks girls! I'm glad you all like it. I was tossed up between brown and gray being the main color. I've seen so many gray chairs lately I figured I would go brown. :)
ReplyDeleteI love telephone tables too. The new upholstery is perfect! Great job.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! The fabric is fabulous. And brown was surely the right choice. Also, thanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the nice comments! I'm in love with the bird fabric too, and I'm glad others feel the same way. Lets just hope she sells! :) xo
ReplyDeleteI love that fabric! Can you tell me who makes it?
ReplyDeleteYou know I have no clue who makes it actually, but I can call the fabric store tomorrow and find out. They had a tealish blue version of it too.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this! The character of the piece, the color & the Fabric!
ReplyDeleteAnne looks gorgeous and the fabric is so lovely and works so well with the browns. Thanks for sharing. Have a great week!~Poppy

Retro Restyle -- I'd love to be able to locate some of that fabric. If you could tell me the maker then perhaps I could find some???? Did you buy it at a small independent store, surely not a chain like JoAnn's or Hancock's? I've seen this fabric before and have already checked my closest JoAnn's.
ReplyDeleteHey Anon! Sorry I forgot to call the store I bought it from today. The store is called Jackman's Fabrics and there are only 2 in the St. Louis area. http://www.jackmansfabrics.com is the website and I searched on there for the fabric but I didn't see it. I promise I will call in the morning and get the name! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Retro Restyling. Since you posted the web site I'll have to go look at it!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE telephone chairs and I'm so jealous that you found one! I've never come across one for the right price. Love the fabric too. Hmm, now I think I need to amp up my search and replace the sofa table in my foyer with one of these...
